Spherion Mid Ohio has partnered with a Federally Qualified Health Center in Northwest Ohio seeking to add a compassionate Dentist to their team. This health center provides a full range of medical care to individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds in the Northwest Ohio area.

Requirements

The Dentist is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality of dental services delivered by the facility. The Dental Director has chosen to delegate specific responsibilities of the position, aside from dental physician peer review and discipline to the Dentist. This position will assume responsibility for the delivery, coordination and supervision of dental services provided at facility, and abides by all policies, federal, state, and local regulations within the Dental Department. The person provides direct dental care.

This facility qualifies as a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) approved health care site. This allows the dental provider (DDS/DMD) to be eligible to apply for the NHSC Loan Repayment Program with an award amount up to $50,000 for Full-Time status employees and a 2-year Service Commitment.

Essential Functions

  • Routinely meetings with Dental Director to review dental operations.
  • Assists the Dental Director in carrying out the dental care plan.
  • Meet with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative procedures, and establish a plan for better dental hygiene.
  • Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities.
  • Correcting bite issues and overcrowding.
  • Applying helpful agents to teeth, such as sealants or whiteners.
  • Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics.
  • Giving clients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering treatments.
  • Ordering diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc.
  • Using tools, such as drills, probes, brushes, or mirrors, to examine and treat teeth and mouth.
  • Keeping records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them.
  • Managing and communicating with other staff members to provide care to patients.
  • Exhibits a caring, communicative, and positive interaction with patients and within the total organization.
  • Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces, promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.

Required Education/Experience

Must have a D.D.S., Doctor of Dental Surgery or D.M.D., Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an accredited college of dentistry. Must have an Ohio License.
